Everything here is made of ice. It took twelve hour days for about five weeks to complete the sculptures. Even the ice was sculpted to look like ice. It was nine degrees in the room and the hotel gave us blue parkas to wear.
I have a friend going to the local Gaylord today to see the ice exhibit. The pics you posted are amazing, makes me want to go even more! I'm not sure if I'll make ti this year!

A Prayer for the Woods
I am the heat of your hearth on cold winter nights, the friendly screen shading you from summer sun, and my fruits are refreshing draughts quenching your thirst as you journey on.
I am the beam that holds your house, the board of your table, the bed on which you lie and the timber that builds your boat.
I am the handle of your hoe, the door of your homestead, the wood of your cradle and the shell of your coffin.
I am the bread of kindness and the floor of beauty.
Ye who pass by, listen to my prayer. Harm me not.

Fine. I'll tell you. Here's my dirty little secret.
I knew it would happen because I saw what it did to seemingly rational
adults so I resisted the urge to...
